
Waves Trek to Vegas for Southern Highlands Collegiate

MALIBU, Calif. — The Pepperdine men's golf team is back in action this weekend, making the trip to Las Vegas, Nev. for the Southern Highlands Collegiate.
EVENT INFO — The Southern Highlands Collegiate will be held at the par-72, 7,510-yard Southern Highlands Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nev. There will be 18 holes of golf each day between Sunday and Tuesday (February 25-27).Â
Play will begin at 9 a.m. PT each day with tee times off holes one and 10. Live scoring will be available with links found on www.PepperdineWaves.com.
PGA TOUR EXEMPTION — The individual champion will receive an exemption into the Shriners Children's Open, which will take place Oct. 14-20, 2024, at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas.
FIELD — The tournament field includes 15 teams, including eight teams ranked among Spikemark's top-25 rankings. Playing alongside the Waves are #1 North Carolina, #2 Auburn, #4 Arizona State, #15 Oklahoma, #16 New Mexico, #17 Illinois, #21 Texas, #23 Florida, Georgia, Missouri, San Diego State, TCU, Texas A&M and UNLV.
EVENT HISTORY — This is Pepperdine's seventh appearance at the exclusive Southern Highlands event. The Waves played in four-straight from 2017-20 and another pair in 2022-23. The team's best finish came in 2022 with second-place. Joe Highsmith finished tied for second as an individual as well that year.
PEPPERDINE LINEUP — Pepperdine's lineup consists of sophomore Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton HS/USC), sophomores Joshua Koo (Cerritos, Calif./Cerritos HS/Washington) and Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif./Jesuit HS) and freshmen Kristoffer Kuvaas (Houston, Texas/The Village School) and William Walsh (San Mateo, Calif./Juniper Serra HS).
LAST TIME OUT — Earlier this month, the Waves made a splash in the record books with some stellar numbers at the Amer Ari Invitational in Kohala Coast, Hawai'i. Brady Siravo had his best career finish after he tied for eighth with a 15-under 201 (68-68-65) through three rounds. The 15-under ranked tied for sixth in the Pepperdine all-time record books.
All five Waves shot under par at the tournament to finish tied for eighth of out 20 teams. Pepperdine shot a 19-under, a feat which ranks second in the record books all-time, in the third round. The team shot 45-under through three rounds, which also ties for fourth in the record books.Â
