MALIBU, Calif. - The 2025 Pepperdine beach volleyball schedule was released today, showcasing 16 regular season dates of competition and 10 home dates for the Waves.
Â
"Our schedule has been devised to best prepare our team for our conference tournament, with the ultimate goal to make it to NCAA's," head coach
Marcio Sicoli said. "It is always a pleasure to host so many programs who like to travel here to Southern California for their spring break, all while our athletes have the best opportunity to compete on our home courts in front of their biggest fans. We will surely be tested throughout the season against many of the top-15 programs in the country, which is always a solid gauge for us to know where we stand when the postseason comes around."
Â
The Waves will have at least four duals with teams that finished in the top-10 of the final 2024 AVCA national poll as they are set to compete against California, Long Beach State, UCLA and USC - the four-time defending national champions. Potential duals with other teams who were ranked in the final poll from last year include Arizona, Arizona State and TCU, all of which would be at the Big 12 Invitational.Â
Â
Pepperdine's season will begin in Malibu on February 21-22 as the Waves host Vanguard and Cal State Bakersfield on opening day before taking on California and Long Beach State that Saturday. The following weekend, the Waves will make the short trip to Los Angeles, Calif. for the Battle 4 L.A. hosted by USC and UCLA.
Â
Pepperdine will then return to Malibu for two weekends of action as the program hosts the Malibu Invite and the ASICS Classic. The Waves will welcome Morehead State, Sacramento State, UTEP, Hawaii Pacific, Concordia and South Florida to the
Pepperdine Beach Volleyball Courts over the course of nine days.
Â
After the homestand, the squad will take a trip to Santa Cruz for the WCC Midseason Challenge on March 29 before traveling out of state to Arizona for the Big 12 Invitational on April 4-5.
Â
The program will then return home for the last two weeks of the regular season for the Waves Tourney, the Pepperdine Dual and Dual Days. San Francisco, Concordia, UC Davis, Oregon and Hope International are all set to make the trek out to Malibu as Pepperdine wraps up its regular season.
Â
The WCC Championships are currently slated for April 24-25 in Santa Monica, Calif. and the NCAA Championships are scheduled for May 2-4 in Huntington Beach, Calif.
