Women's Basketball Welcomes Three New Waves

The Pepperdine women's basketball team welcomes three incoming freshmen to Malibu, signing Quinn Vansickle, Seleh Harmon, Zoe Shanahan for the 2025-26 school year.

Quinn VanSickle – A 5'8" guard from Castle Rock, Colo., VanSickle comes to Pepperdine with winning experience. Through three years, the Colorado native averaged 14.9 points per game, totalling over 1100 points in her high school career. She is currently ranked second in the entire state for three-pointers as well as 24th from the field.

VanSickle said she chose Pepperdine because of "the incredible coaches and the common competitive goals we share.  I'm excited to play for a passionate coaching staff that will push me to succeed in everything that I do both on and off the court. I also look forward to playing for a coach and university whose love for the Lord is evident."

When asked about VanSickle, head coach Katie Faulkner shared plenty of excitement. "Quinn is a tremendous addition to a class centered around building Pepperdine from the ground up. She is an incredible point guard - with a toughness and competitiveness that drives those around her to new levels. A proven winner, she can score the ball at all three levels and defend anywhere on the court at an elite level. I say it with humor, but she is a kid who has ice in her veins, and Jesus in her heart. Her commitment to excellence overflows into all areas of her life, and I could not leave out her incredible love and passion for people, which will impact many lives over her time here. We are thrilled to welcome her to Malibu, and excited to begin this journey with her."

Seleh Harmon – Averaging 20.6 points per game and seven rebounds, the 5'10" Norman, Okla. native can be a game changing guard on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. In Harmon's biggest performance last season, she dropped 32 points, including five from beyond the arch.

Harmon chose Pepperdine because "the new coaching staff showed their belief in me both as a player and person. My beliefs align perfectly with the staff. I want to be a part of building something special at Pepperdine and have an early imprint on a growing program. And of course, what's not to love about the beach? "

Faulkner boasted about Harmon when asked about the incoming freshman. "Seleh is the complete player. She comes from an incredible family and community who exemplify the values we strive for here at Pepperdine. Seleh has an outstanding work ethic, drive, coachability, selflessness, and competitiveness that make her successful both on and off the court. There isn't a day Seleh can't be found in the gym or now at the beach. Seleh is a heady ball handler, elite three point shooter, but it's her ability to pass that really impacts the her team. Her decision to move to Malibu and join this build means the world to us, and we feel so honored to have her and her family as a part of our program."

Zoe Shanahan – Coming all the way from Melbourne, Australia, Shanahan is a 6'2" wing/forward who has most recently played for NBL1 Nunawading Spectres as well as Vic Metro State. This summer, Shanahan had a career-high 40% shooting percentage from the field.

Shanahan chose Pepperdine because "of the friendly and supportive coaching staff who made me feel truly wanted. Their enthusiasm and genuine interest in my growth as both player and person fueled my excitement to move from Australia and be part of such a welcoming community. The plans they have in place and the program they are building aligned perfectly with my goals. Along with the stunning location, and  the strong sense of community, Pepperdine is the ideal environment for both my personal academic and athletic development."

No one is more excited to welcome Shanahan to Malibu than Faulkner. "Zoe is an unbelievable addition to this program. From the way she trains, how she approaches the game, and how she carries herself both on and off the court, she brings a level of professionalism and preparedness that mirrors the pro game. Her ability to shoot the ball and go off the bounce make her a special and unique talent for her size. But beyond the court, it's her character and courage that we are most excited to add to our program. She values people to the highest degree and serves those around her well. I love her commitment to Pepperdine and her excitement to build something special here in Malibu."
