QUOTABLES
Â
"After a solid training cycle in Hawaii we were able to jump back into some tough competition and faced some inclement weather," head coach Ellie Monobe said. "I was pleased with how we handled the elements and finished our races. I haven't yet seen the speed that we finished with in November, but I believe we are set up for a strong finish to this dual meet season."
Â
"Day two at the Bruin Diving Invitational was the women's 3-meter event," diving coach Monique Demaisip said. "Overall, I would say our performance was pretty consistent. We were definitely more consistent today than yesterday. It was good to see some improvements in technique and the fine details. A lot of the stuff that we worked on during our recent training trip was put into action today and I'm proud of that. In terms of placement and scoring, the score cutoff to make the top-18 finals was all pretty close. Everybody in that chunk of that pack all had very close scores. Vivian only missed finals by just shy of 12 points, which was really exciting. Compared to our performance last year, we're definitely looking more comfortable at this level of a meet and placing a bit higher. We're moving on up and progressing in the right direction. I am excited to see how tomorrow goes. All six of our divers will be participating tomorrow in the tower event and I'm looking forward to that."
