MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine women's soccer team jumped out front in the first half and defeated Arizona 2-1 in an exhibition contest on Thursday afternoon at Tari Frahm Rokus Field.
The Waves (0-0) scored two goals in the first 30 minutes of the game against the Wildcats (0-0), but Arizona put some pressure on Pepperdine's defense to find the back of the net and cut the Waves' lead to one. The Waves then held the Wildcats for the remaining minutes to hold onto the win.

Pepperdine 16': Senior midfielder
Skylar Enge (Cardiff, Calif./Pacific Ridge School) sent a beauty of a cross to senior defender
Victoria Romero (Claremont, Calif./The Webb Schools) who headed the ball to junior forward
Kelsey Adams (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach Poly HS). Adams then got control of the ball and tapped it with her right-foot past the Arizona keeper.
Pepperdine 30': Redshirt junior defender
Kam Pickett (Santa Barbara, Calif./Dos Pueblos HS) tapped a right-footed pass to freshman forward
Julia Quinonez (Torrance, Calif./Torrance HS) who ricocheted the ball off her right foot in the air towards Enge. Enge then sent a right-footed pass around the Arizona defender and found the back of the net.
Arizona 70': Brooke Ahern of Arizona sent a cross towards the middle of the box. The Wildcats then headed the ball towards the Pepperdine keeper and found the back of the net.
