BREMERTON, Wash. – The #6 Pepperdine men's golf team shot a 10-under at the West Coast Conference Championships, but BYU and San Francisco were able to shoot below par in the final round, forcing the Waves into a third-place finish on Saturday.

Pepperdine got within 1-stroke of the lead early in the third round according to Golfstat, but the Cougars and Dons pulled away.  BYU ended with a three-day total of 21-under 843 for first and San Francisco posted a 20-under 844 for second, while the Waves were 11-strokes back of the top spot at a 10-under 854 (284-280-290) at the par-72 Olympic Course at Gold Mountain Golf Club.

William Mouw had a share of the lead throughout the third round, but a bogey on the 18^th hole saw him end tied for fifth alongside fellow Wave Derek Hitchner, both at a 7-under 209 after three rounds. 

PLAYER SCORES

• Senior William Mouw (Chino, Calif./Ontario Christian HS) finished tied for fifth with a score of 209 (68-68-73).  He shot below par in the first two rounds, which puts his career total at 65 below par rounds and ranks fourth in the Pepperdine record books.  He also marked 13 birdies throughout the tournament.
• Graduate Derek Hitchner (Minneapolis, Minn./The Blake School) finished tied for fifth with a 209 (72-66-71), having also shot below par in the final two rounds.  He was good for 10 birdies and had an eagle on the 14^th in the second round. 
• Graduate Sam Choi (Anaheim, Calif./New Mexico) finished tied for 13^th with a score of 217 (71-72-74).  He shot his best round, a 1-under 71, in the third round after marking four birdies on the back nine. 
• Graduate Luke Gifford (Boca Raton, Fla./South Florida) tied for 17^th with a three-round total of 219 (73-74-72).  He had five birdies in the final round, including four without a bogey through the first 11 rounds, and he posted 11 birdies overall.
