MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine women's soccer team earned its first West Coast Conference win in the second week of play as the Waves defeated Pacific 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon at Tari Frahm Rokus Field.
The Waves (4-3-5, 1-1-0 WCC) went ahead early over the Tigers (6-6-1, 0-2-0 WCC) as
Julia Quinonez found the back of the net in the 13th minute. Pacific then tied the game almost 10 minutes later, but right before the break Pepperdine earned a penalty kick that
Kendall Campbell successfully converted on to give the Waves a 2-1 lead. Following half time, Pepperdine and Pacific went end-to-end, and the Waves shut down the Tigers and held onto the victory.
