The Waves had another bases loaded situation after a Gauchos' passed ball and an intentional walk to John Peck (Moorpark, Calif./Moorpark HS). Michael Winaker (Walnut Creek, Calif./San Ramon HS) hit a ball to the shortstop on the grass line that scored the third run for Pepperdine at 3-1.

Landis led off the bottom of the fifth inning with a walk and on a 2-0 count Johnson went yard to left field to make it 5-1. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Pepperdine had its second two-out rally when Peck reached on a fielder's choice and then stole second. Bradshaw hit a rocket up the middle to give the Waves runners on first and second.
