Six Waves Receive All-WCC Recognition

MALIBU, California – The #22 Pepperdine men's tennis program was well-represented on the West Coast Conference's postseason awards, as Daniel De Jonge, Andrew Rogers and Tim Zeitvogel were all named to the All-WCC singles first team as announced by the league on Thursday. The doubles duo of De Jonge and Eero Vasa was a first team selection as well.

Additionally, the Waves had three singles players and two doubles teams named to the honorable mention squad. Enrique Luque Rico, Corrado Summaria and Vasa were named to the honorable mention singles team, while the pairs of Rico and Zeitvogel along with Rogers and Summaria were honorable mention doubles recipients. Rico and Summaria were second-team performers in singles in 2019, while Summaria was an honorable mention doubles honoree last season with Zeitvogel.

#62 Zeitvogel (Baden-Baden, Germany) was the top performer for the Waves this season, leading Pepperdine with a dual singles record of 13-2. The senior has won 13 in a row dating back to mid-January. Zeitvogel clinched Pepperdine's win over #4 USC with a straight set win over Wojtek Marek. He also took down a pair of top-35 opponents in March, defeating Harvard's Harris Walker (#35) and Texas' Richard Ciamarra (#32). Zeitvogel was previously an honorable mention performer in singles in 2019 and 2021.

#23 De Jonge (Vlissingen, Netherlands) compiled a dual singles record of 13-5 solely from the top position for Pepperdine this season. He defeated #23 Henry Schulenburg from Harvard on March 17, leading the Waves to their second top-10 victory of the season. He was a second-team selection in 2021.

Graduate student and #96 Rogers (Brentwood, Tenn.) was 5-8 from the second, third and fourth position this spring for the Waves. He clinched the match over Harvard with a victory against Ronan Jachuck and also defeated #122 Bradley Frye in straight sets to help Pepperdine defeat #4 USC in February. Rogers took home the singles title at the ITA Southwest Regional in the fall.

De Jonge and Vasa (Turku, Finland) were a mainstay in the Waves' doubles lineup this season, going 5-5 from the top spot. The duo's highest ranking (#74) came on April 20 following a win over then-#9 Holmgren/Osorio from San Diego.
