GAME RECAP

Pepperdine had the first hit of the game thanks to Ryan Johnson (Tempe, Ariz./Seton Catholic HS) who hit a single to right center, which also moved up John Peck (Moorpark, Calif./Moorpark HS) after he led off with a walk. Devon Walczykowski (El Dorado, Calif./Jesuit HS) got Pepperdine on the board first with a double to the right field warning track to make it 2-0 in the first inning. After two quick innings, the Waves got another run on the board in the top of the fourth from an RBI single to center field by Conley to make it 3-0.

The Titans got their first run off the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. In the sixth, Mehlhaff led off with a single to center field, and Malinchak hit one up the middle to move Mehlhaff to second. The Waves were able to get runners in scoring position on a Titans' wild pitch. Conley loaded the bases on a walk, and another wild pitch by Cal State Fullerton brought Mehlhaff across the plate to make it 4-1.
