Lahey Earns Second-Straight CoSIDA All-American Honor

MALIBU, Calif. – Ashley Lahey of the Pepperdine women's tennis team earned her second-straight CoSIDA Academic All-American honor on Friday morning, the association announced.

Lahey is only the second-ever student-athlete to earn Academic All-American honors twice after men's volleyball member Clint Olson in 2001 and 2002. She is also the first Wave to make the Academic first team twice.

She is the 17th overall pick for the honor in Pepperdine history.

The recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in sports medicine recorded a 3.96 overall GPA for her career in Malibu while playing at the No. 1 spot for the Waves most of the year.

Lahey helped lead the Waves to a runner-up finish in the 2021 NCAA Championships in a run that ultimately began with a clinch point over Stanford in the second round. While playing doubles with Lisa Zaar, the pair went 3-2 while snatching the doubles clinch point over then-#4 UCLA which snowballed into a 4-3 win for the Waves in the tournament quarterfinals.
