#28 Waves Play in Kansas Saturday and Sunday

MALIBU, Calif. – The #28 Pepperdine men's tennis team will head to scenic Wichita, Kansas this weekend to compete in a pair of matches hosted by Wichita State.

SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
Currently standing at 13-11, #48 SMU has played a plethora of matches going into Saturday. Most recently, the Mustangs dropped matches to then-#26 UCF and then-#4 Baylor. SMU does, however, have a 4-1 win over fellow West Coast Conference contender San Diego.

SMU has no ranked singles or doubles players. Pepperdine is 12-10 all-time with the Mustangs, with the most recent match between the two resulting in a 4-0 loss for the Waves in 2015.

SCOUTING THE SHOCKERS
At 12-5 on the season, #34 Wichita State has earned wins over SMU, then-#22 Memphis and then-#45 Denver. The Shockers have no ranked singles players, but the pair of Marius Frosa and Murkel Dellien clocked in at #72 in this week's doubles rankings.

Having only played each other twice, the Waves hold a 2-0 record against Wichita State with the two wins coming in 1982 and 1983.

SURF REPORT
The #28 Waves head east after going 2-0 in conference play at Santa Clara and San Francisco last weekend. The guys handled their opponents going a total of 12-0- 7-0 against SCU and 5-0 against USF.

Tim Zeitvogel has maintained his dual singles unbeaten status after returning to the team this month, going 3-0 and earning a clinch point against Santa Clara.

Up 15 spots to #52 in this week's ITA singles rankings, Adrian Oetzbach has lost only one of his last six completed matches. In addition to his singles ranking, Oetzbach and partner Guy Den Ouden checked in at #62 in the ITA's doubles rankings this week after going undefeated since playing their first match together at the beginning of February. The pair defeated the #3 tandem of Emile Hudd and Matej Vocel of Oklahoma State in route to their current 6-0 streak.
