PALO ALTO, California – The Pepperdine men's golf team climbed up into a tie for third place after Friday's second round at The Goodwin.

The Waves have a two-day total of 567 (282-285) at the par-70 Stanford Golf Course. They're tied with Washington and Saint Mary's. Arizona State (551) and host Stanford (556) have separated themselves atop the leaderboard among the 28-team team field.

PLAYER SCORES

Junior Joe Highsmith (Lakewood, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) is tied for sixth place with a 3-under 137 (67-70). His even-par round today included two birdies and an eagle on the par-5 7th hole.
Senior Clay Feagler (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Dana Hills HS) had the Waves' best round of the day, a 2-under 68. He's tied for 19th with an even-par 140 (72-68). He had three birdies and an eagle on the par-5 16th hole.
Senior Joey Vrzich (El Cajon, Calif./Christian HS/Nevada) is tied for 29th at 142 (70-72). His second round included three birdies.
Sophomore William Mouw (Chino, Calif./Ontario Christian HS) is tied for 79th at 148 (73-75). He had four birdies today.
Sophomore Dylan Menante (Carlsbad, Calif./Sage Creek HS) is tied for 122nd at 153 (76-77). He had one birdie on Friday.

UP NEXT

For Saturday's third and final round, the Waves will be paired with Denver, SMU and Nevada. They'll start on the first tee at 12:10 p.m.
