PALM CITY, Florida – The Pepperdine men's golf team ended up with a seventh-place finish against a tough field at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday.

The Waves had a two-day total of a 4-under 848 (276-284-288) at the par-71 Floridian National Golf Club. The event featured six of the nation's top-10 teams, including #4 Pepperdine, and nine teams in the top 40.

PLAYER SCORES

Sophomore Dylan Menante (Carlsbad, Calif./Sage Creek HS) tied for seventh place with a 5-under 208 (69-67-72). He had four birdies in the final round, three of which came in his first six holes. Menante was the tournament's top player on par-4s, scoring 6-under overall. He led the Waves with 15 birdies over the two days. Menante, who was named to the latest Haskins Award watch list last week, posted his fourth top-10 finish in five tournaments this season.
Senior Clay Feagler (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Dana Hills HS) tied for 16th with a 1-under 212 (70-69-73). He recorded four birdies on Tuesday, three coming in the final six holes.
Sophomore William Mouw (Chino, Calif./Ontario Christian HS) tied for 22nd with an even-par 213 (68-73-72). He had five birdies today, including a run of three straight on holes four-five-six.
Junior Joe Highsmith (Lakewood, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) tied for 26th at 216 (69-76-71). His even-par was the Waves' best round of the day and it included four birdies and an eagle on the par 5-13th.
Senior RJ Manke (Lakewood, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) took 45th at 223 (73-75-75). He posted two birdies in the final round.
