PALM CITY, Florida – Dylan Menante and Clay Feagler are in the top 10 and the Pepperdine men's golf team is fifth after Monday's first two rounds at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational.

The Waves shot an 8-under 560 (276-284) at the par-71 Floridian National Golf Club. They're nine back of SMU heading into the final round. It's an impressive field, as the #4 Waves are one of six top-10 teams competing.

Joe Highsmith had a hole-in-one during the first round.

PLAYER SCORES

Sophomore Dylan Menante (Carlsbad, Calif./Sage Creek HS) is tied for third place with a 6-under 136 (69-67). He closed out his 2-under first round with four birdies in the final six holes, and had five total. He added six more birdies in his 4-under afternoon round, all of which came in a 10-hole span. He'll head into Tuesday three shots out of the lead.
Senior Clay Feagler (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Dana Hills HS) is tied for 10th with a 3-under 139 (70-69). He had two birdies and 15 pars in his morning 1-under round, then had three birdies and an eagle on the par-4 sixth hole during his 2-under in the afternoon.
Sophomore William Mouw (Chino, Calif./Ontario Christian HS) is tied for 24th with a 1-under 141 (68-73). He had five birdies in the morning en route to a score of 3-under. He added two more birdies and an eagle on the par-4 sixth hole in the second round.
Junior Joe Highsmith (Lakewood, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) is tied for 33rd at 145 (69-76). He recorded a hole-in-one on the 186-yard 12th hole during the first round. He also had seven birdies on the day.
Senior RJ Manke (Lakewood, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) is tied for 42nd at 148 (73-75). He had a total of four birdies on Monday.

UP NEXT

The Waves will be paired with Ohio State and Arizona State for the third and final round. They'll start off the first tee beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET/5:30 a.m. PT.
