SAN DIEGO, California – The Pepperdine men's basketball team's final tune-up for the regular season didn't go as hoped, as the Waves lost an exhibition at Point Loma Nazarene, 77-50, on Saturday night.
The Sea Lions, one of the top teams in NCAA Division II, jumped out to a 14-0 lead to start the game, and later scored the first 13 points of the second half.
Graduate transfer forward Keith Fisher III (Los Angeles, Calif./Illinois State) had a nice debut, finishing with team highs of 14 points and nine rebounds. Of the nine Waves that saw action, six were newcomers.
The regular season begins on Tuesday, November 9, when the Waves play at Rice. The home opener is Friday, November 12, against Idaho State. Ticket information and COVID-19 entry policies for Firestone Fieldhouse can be found here.
