FULLERTON, Calif. – The Pepperdine women's tennis team took six wins and no losses through the first round of the 133^rd USTA SoCal Sectionals on Friday.

Unattached players Ashley Lahey and Jessica Failla- the #1 and #2 seeds overall, respectively- did not allow any points from their competition as they both went 6-0, 6-0 in their first rounds of play.

Sophomores Astrid Olsen and Lisa Zaar moved forward through their rounds of 32, as Olsen defeated Taylor Cataldi 6-2, 6-1 and Zaar rebounded to beat San Diego's Elizabeth Goldsmith 6-7(4), 6-2, 6-0.

Redshirt freshman Lexi Ryngler took a win over another USD player, Jordyn McBride, by way of a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 score, while true freshman Nikki Redelijk defeated USC's Constance Branstine 3-6, 7-5, 7-5.
