Ryngler Earns Spot in Sectional Semifinals

COSTA MESA, Calif. – Redshirt freshman Lexi Ryngler of the Pepperdine women's tennis team remained the lone survivor after a Saturday full of tough matches in the USTA's SoCal Sectionals.
On a Saturday full of two rounds, Ryngler found a way to win as the last Wave left in the tournament. After defeating CalTech player Michelle Hyun in the round of 16, Ryngler proved herself against highly touted UCLA senior Jada Hart, besting the Bruin in three sets- 6-7, 6-3, 6-4- to propel herself into the tournament semifinals on Sunday. There, she will take on USC's Elizabeth Cayetano at 12 p.m.
