Pepperdine to Compete in WCC Cup

MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine women's swim and dive team heads Loyola Marymount to compete in the WCC Cup this Friday and Saturday.
The Waves will compete against PCH Cup rival Loyola Marymount and University of San Diego. The last time the Waves met the Lions, was in November when they defeated them at home 180-82. The Waves previously met the Toreros in October, falling to them 113-185.
MEET DETAILS:Â The first day will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17 and on Saturday Jan. 18 the meet will begin at 10:00 a.m. It will be held at Burns Recreation Center in Los Angeles, California.

LAST SHOWING:Â The Waves had a solid last meet at home against Colorado State and New Mexico, although falling to both teams. Caroline Eckel led the Waves with a first place finish in the 100 backstroke, out-touching all swimmers in a time of 57.93. The women's 400 medley relay in which the team of Eckel, Emily Morton, Haley Bergthold and Amy Griffin finished in fourth place with a time of 1:49.79. Sammie Slater was the top performer for the Waves in the 200 freestyle, taking fourth place and swimming a time of 1:57.13. Griffin had the top Pepperdine performance in the 100 freestyle taking fifth in a time of 54.15.
NEXT UP:Â After this weekend the Waves will be back home on January 25th for senior day and the final home meet of the season against Azusa Pacific. The meet will begin with diving at 10am, followed by senior recognitions at 11am and swimming at 11:10am.
