MALIBU, California – The Pepperdine men's and women's cross country teams are headed up to Sacramento for the third regular-season meet, as the Waves will run at the Capital Cross Challenge on Saturday morning.
MEET DETAILS
The race will be held at the Haggin Oaks Golf Course. On Saturday, the men's 8K will start at 9:40 a.m., followed by the women's 6K at 10:40 a.m. Sacramento State is the host.
MEN'S TEAM
Sophomores
Kyle McCabe (Westminster, Colo./Holy Family HS) and
Karl Winter (Stockton, Calif./Saint Mary's HS), have been the leading runners so far the season. In their last race, the UC Riverside Invitational, McCabe moved his name up in the record books for the all-time 8K performance list to number 10 with a time of 24:58.8. Winter currently sits at number three in the record book from last season.

Jalen Frantal (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville Central HS), junior
Preston Gromer (Casper, Wyo./Kelly Walsh HS) and freshman
Marcus Flint (Durango, Colo./Durango HS).
Sophomore
Jackson Felkins (Clearwater, Fla./Palm Harbor University HS) is expected to make his season debut this weekend.
WOMEN'S TEAM
Freshman
Skyler Danley (Easton, Pa./Easton Area HS) has led the Waves for the women in the first two meets of the season. With the first 6K of her college career at the UC Riverside invitational, she posted a time of 22:19.84, immediately making her way into the all-time 6K performance list at number 12.

Sylvia Mosqueda says: "It's been amazing coaching the men's and women's team. I am seeing some big changes in their training workouts. The men have been really working well together as a team and have been doing some solid workouts. As for my women, they all have been giving me some solid workouts and I'm excited to see how they do this Saturday at the Capital Cross Challenge. I am enjoying working with this young team of amazing athletes and I couldn't be prouder."
