MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – Two members of the Pepperdine men's tennis team wrapped up the competition this weekend as the Milwaukee Tennis Classic came to a close.

Round of 64: Tim Zeitvogel (PEPP) def. Alex Jochim (IUPUI) 4-6, 6-2, 6-2
Round of 32: Jake Sands (USC) def. Tim Zeitvogel (PEPP) 6-1, 6-1

Round of 64: Patrick Harper (TENN) def. Enrique Luque Rico (PEPP) 6-1, 7-5

RECAP:
Sophomore Tim Zeitvogel won his opening round match against Alex Jochim of IUPUI in three sets, going 4-6, 6-2 and 6-2 to advance and meet USC's Jake Sands. Zeitvogel then dropped his second round match-up 1-6, 1-6 to complete his singles play.

Enrique Luque Rico dropped his round-opener to Patrick Harper of Tennessee 1-6, 5-7 but qualified for the consolation bracket. There, he defeated Cal's Bjorn Hoffman 7-6(3), 6-2 to advance to the consolation round of 16, but dipped to Martins Rocens of North Carolina State 2-6, 4-6.

In doubles play, Zeitvogel and Luque Rico opened the round of 32 with an 8-6 win over Kentucky's Millen Hurrion and Alexandre Leblanc to advance and face North Carolina State's Tadas Babelis and Yannai Barkai, where the Waves lost 4-8 to complete the weekend.

"I thought the guys did a great job this weekend competing against some very good teams," assistant coach Tassilo Schmid said.

"We collected some great wins but also had some losses that we need to learn from. Enrique and Tim are on a great path and we are looking forward to continue their development."
