Water Polo to Play in Two Tournaments

MALIBU, Calif. –After a fifth-place finish at the Triton Invitational last weekend, the #8 Pepperdine men's water polo team has two tournaments this weekend, playing in the GCC vs. WWPA Challenge on Saturday and the Inland Empire Classic on Sunday.

Game #5: Saturday (Sept. 14) at 10:00 a.m. at the Burns Aquatic Center in Los Angeles, Calif. : No. 8 Pepperdine (3-1) vs. No. 14 Loyola Marymount (1-3).

Game #6: Saturday (Sept. 14) at 3:00 p.m. at the Burns Aquatic Center in Los Angeles, Calif.: No. 8 Pepperdine vs. California Baptist (1-3).

Game #7: Sunday (Sept. 15) at 9:00 a.m. at the Thompson Aquatic Center in Redlands, Calif.: No. 8 Pepperdine vs. No. 7 Long Beach State (3-1).

Last Week: The Waves had a good showing last week at the Triton Invitational, taking home fifth place. Balazs Kosa and Marko Asic each scored eight goals for the Waves, leading the way to victories over Pomona-Pitzer, Loyola Marymount and UC San Diego.

National Rankings: The Waves are once again near the top of the Collegiate Water Polo national rankings. The Collegiate Water Polo Association has Pepperdine ranked #8 in the second week of the season.

Schroeder: Head Coach Terry Schroeder is in his 27th year of coaching at Pepperdine. His first stint of coaching was from 1986-2005, after which he took an eight-year break to coach the United States National Team.
