Bauer, Dyer Garner AVCA All-American First Team Acclaim

MALIBU, Calif. – Brook Bauer and Heidi Dyer of the #7 Pepperdine beach volleyball program, garnered AVCA All-America first team acclaim for their performances on the court during the 2019 beach season, as announced the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Wednesday morning.

This is the second time Dyer has earned a spot among the AVCA All-American ranks, while it is Bauer's first honor. Each Wave has earned multiple other All-American recognition throughout their time donning the blue and orange.

This season, Bauer (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas HS) earned WCC Defensive Player of the Year accolades, while also tabbing a spot on the All-WCC first team. She was the WCC Freshman of the Year in 2018 as well as a VolleyMob and Volleyball Magazine All-American second team honoree, while also earning All-WCC first team honors in that season.Â

She came back strong in the 2019 season, earning more top honors. This season, she has collected a 17-12 record in the No. 1 position for the Waves, including a 14-8 output alongside Dyer. She has clinched three matches for the Waves this season.

Dyer (San Clemente, Calif./Saddleback Valley Christian HS)  earns her first team honors after marking a 20-9 overall record this season. Along with her 14-8 output in the No. 1 position, she has gone 6-1 in the No. 2 slot for the Waves. She has clinched two matches this season in the No. 1 spot.Â

In previous seasons, Dyer has earned AVCA and DiG Magazine All-American first team honors (2016) and VolleyMob All-American second team acclaim (2018). She is a two-time All-WCC first teamer and earned second team honors in 2017 as well.Â

This season, the Waves earned a berth into their fourth-consecutive NCAA Beach Volleyball Championships in Head Coach Marcio Sicoli's first year at the helm of the program.
