LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The No. 8 Pepperdine women's tennis team defeated yet another top 20-ranked foe after downing No. 13 USC by a score of 4-1 on Tuesday afternoon at the Marks Tennis Stadium.

The Waves (15-3) pulled ahead after securing the doubles point and eventually won as the three Waves in the top of the lineup took singles victories over the Trojans (16-4), including No. 43 Ashley Lahey, No. 57 Jessica Failla and No. 84 Adrijana Lekaj.

The 8th-ranked Waves split the first two doubles matches, as the point decision was left up to the pair of WCC Pair of the Week Ashley Lahey and Daria Kuczer on court two, where they won 6-3 over Becca Weissmann and Danielle Willson to put Pepperdine up 1-0.

In singles, Adrijana Lekaj struck first, winning by scores of 6-1 and 6-0 over Rianna Valdes on court three. No. 57 Jessica Failla took her match over No. 95 Angela Kulikov, going 6-0 and 6-4 on the afternoon and putting the Waves up 3-1. It was a race to the finish for the last point, where Kuczer needed only one point, but it was No. 43 Lahey who finished off No. 46 Salma Ewing in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2 to secure the clinch.
