Waves Honor Seniors in Final Home Match

MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine Men's tennis team honored seniors Scotland Garapedian and Matias Sborowitz in their final match at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center in Sundays 4-2 loss to San Diego.

MATCH RECAP
San Diego came out swinging in singles play, taking the first two matches quickly. The 56th-ranked pairing of Joel Gamerov and August Holmgren defeated Oetzbach and Zeitvogel 6-2. Rico and Summaria fell to Osorio and Borter 6-2 on court two. Jankowiak and Sborowitz were down 3-5 when the point was secured by the Toreros.

In singles play, the Waves fought back mightily. Sborowitz continued his hot season with a dominating 6-3, 6-3 win over Gamerov on court three. Then, on court four, Zeitvogel came away victorious over Borter in 6-3, 6-4 fashion. On court five, Jankowiak won his first set before falling in the final two sets of the match.

The Waves will be back in action next weekend in the final two regular season matches, traveling to San Francisco on Friday and Santa Clara on Saturday.
