LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Austin Murphy shot a 2-under 70 to lead the Pepperdine men's golf team in its final round at the Southern Highlands Collegiate, annually one of the nation's best tournaments, though the Waves settled for an 11th-place team finish.

Pepperdine had a three-day total of 874 (294-285-295) at the par-72 Southern Highlands Golf Club. Four of the teams in the field are in Golfstat's top 10, eight are in the top 25 (including the #13 Waves) and 14 of the 15 teams are in the top 50. Among the teams that the Waves finished ahead of were #7 Auburn, #30 Florida and #35 UCLA.

PLAYER SCORES

Sophomore Austin Murphy (Morgan Hill, Calif./Bellarmine College Preparatory) moved up 13 spots on the leaderboard and into a tie for 24th at 217 (73-74-70). He had an early bogey, but was mistake-free the rest of the way and recorded three birdies.
Junior Joshua McCarthy (Danville, Calif./De La Salle HS) tied for 31st at 219 (71-70-78).
Junior Clay Feagler (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Dana Hills HS) tied for 37th at 220 (76-71-73). He had four birdies during his final round.
Sophomore RJ Manke (Lakewood, Wash./Bellarmine Preparatory School) tied for 50th at 223 (74-72-77). He had four birdies today, including three consecutive on holes five, six and seven.
Freshman Joe Highsmith (Lakewood, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) tied for 55th at 224 (77-72-75). His back nine included two birdies and seven pars.
