PALO ALTO, California – The Pepperdine men's golf team got the big finish it needed at The Goodwin, posting the second-best score of anyone on Saturday to move up eight spots on the leaderboard and into seventh place.
The Waves shot a three-day total of 863 (293-290-280) at the par-70 Stanford Golf Course. Other than tournament champion and host Stanford, Pepperdine's final round score of even-par was at least two shots better than any of the 25 other teams in the field.
The tournament featured 13 of Golfstat's top 50 teams, including the #14 Waves, and Pepperdine beat seven of them. The Waves hope this will be a preview of next month's West Coast Conference Championships, as they had the best finish among the six WCC schools in the field.
