MATCH RECAPS
Despite unwelcome weather conditions, the Waves came out strong in the first match against Cal State Bakersfield, collecting first set wins on all five courts to set the tone.  Jenna Tunnell and Skylar Caputo finished first, earning a 21-9, 21-11 win over Sidney Wicks and Hana Makanova on court three to put the Waves on the board.  Alexis Filippone and Maddie Dilfer followed shortly after with a pair of 21-13 set wins against Ally Barber and Rafa Bonifacio o put Pepperdine in a position to clinch.

Heidi Dyer and Brook Bauer would do the honors on court one as the pair downed Mattison Degarmo and Brianna Martinez 21-12, 21-10 to put the Waves up 3-0 in the match.  Deahna Kraft, Gigi Hernandez and Melanie Paul, Simone Priebe finished up the match with wins on court two and five respectively.  Kraft and Hernandez downed Cameron Solberg and Milica Vukobrat 21-16, 21-12, while Paul and Priebe finished out the dual with a 22-20, 21-9 win on five over Brooke Boiseau and Krista Hernandez.  The sweep was the Waves' second of the 2019 campaign.

In the second Waves' match of the day, the opposition came out of the starting gate firing, collecting three first set wins to put the home team on their heels.  Pepperdine was up to the challenge, however, and forced third sets on two of those courts to put each side on even playing fields once again.

Although the 49ers won the first match on court three with a two-set win, the Waves answered quickly as Tunnell and Caputo put down Kendra Koelsch and Sophie Major 21-15, 21-11 to tie things up.  Dyer and Bauer then put the Waves ahead with a 21-19, 21-18 victory on court one against Mari Molina and Megan Kruidhof to once again put the Waves one step closer to clinching.

Kraft and Hernandez would be the ones to do the honors on court two, as the pair fought for a third set after falling in the first 21-17, but taking home the second 21-19 against Nicci Reinking and Zoe Konstantopoulou.  The pair then downed the Beach opposition with a 15-11 final set score to clinch the overall.  Nikki Lyons and Katie Gavin ended the dual, battling back from a 21-12 first set loss to Lexie Patterson and Michell Mason to win the second 23-21.  The pair then went on to down their opponents 15-8 in the third set to make it a 4-1 Waves' win.

In the final match of the day, the rain had finally downgraded to a light shower, but the 'Waves Weather' gritty mentality was still helping the fight.  Kraft and Hernandez moved up to court one for the match against CSUN and did well, dominating Daniella Molinari and Seyvion Waggoner with a 21-7, 21-8 set win to put the Waves on the board.  Tunnell and Caputo added another point after securing a 21-14, 21-8 victory on court three to put Pepperdine in a position to clinch for the third time today.

Paul and Priebe would get the job done this time for Pepperdine, as the pair put down Cassidy Rosso and Kailey Klein 21-14, 21-13 in the No. 5 position.  On court four, Gavin and Lyons continued the winning ways for Pepperdine with a 21-14, 21-15 win on court four over Lauren McMurray and Taylor Brydon.  CSUN would get the final win of the day, however, as the opposition took a win over the Waves on court two for the final mark to be 4-1 in Pepperdine's favor.
