PLAY-BY-PLAY
Pepperdine and Texas opened with doubles action, and the Waves on courts two and three were nearly unstoppable from start to finish.  On court two, Ashley Lahey and Daria Kuczer opened the action with a 6-1 dominating win over #67 Fernanda Labrana and Bojana Markovic.  Adrijana Lekaj and Dzina Milovanovic then downed Anna and Bianca Turati in the No. 3 spot with a 6-2 final mark to put the Waves ahead heading into singles.

The Waves used the advantage to pull ahead on many courts early in singles as well, collecting on three first set singles wins. Milovanovic was nearly uncontested in her 6-2, 6-1 victory over #96 Bojana Markovic in the No. 4 position and #56 Lahey followed suit with a 6-4, 6-1 defeat of Bianca Turati in the No. 1 slot to put the Waves ahead 3-0.

Texas was able to collect a pair of wins on courts two and three to close the gap to just one, but the Waves on five and six were up to the task.

Freshman Kuczer would get the clinch after putting down #116 Fernanda Labrana with a pair of 6-4 set scores on court five.  Anastasia Iamachkine would then come back from a 6-4 first set loss to win the second 6-1 and force a third.  The final set was played out by tiebreak and Iamachkine won to complete the Waves' 5-2 upset victory over Texas.
