LOS ANGELES – The Pepperdine women's basketball team won in dominant fashion, as the team held the lead the entire game against Loyola Marymount, defeating the Lions 73-55 in a West Coast Conference and PCH Cup matchup on Friday.
The Waves (17-8, 10-4 WCC) had four players score in double digits, while the Lions (15-11, 8-6 WCC) had only two players in double digits.

BIG WAVES
  • Yasmine Robinson-Bacote (Hillside, N.J./Hillside HS) led the Waves with 16 points and 11 rebounds, her 7th double-double of the season. She has also scored at least 10 points in every single game so far this year.
  • Megan House (Oceanside, Calif./J. Serra Catholic HS) had 13 points, and led the team with two blocks.
  • Barbara Sitanggan (Fullerton, Calif./Troy HS) scored 11 points and assisted on six buckets for the Waves.
GAME RECAP
The Waves got off to a great start in the first, scoring the first four points of the game thanks to two free throws from Sitanggan and a bucket from Robinson-Bacote. After an LMU bucket, the Waves again scored four straight points to take an 8-2 lead halfway through the quarter. The Lions had five straight points, but the Waves answered back with six of the last eight points in the quarter to take an 18-11 lead going into the second quarter.

Pepperdine picked up right where it left off in the second, scoring eight of the first 10 points. The Waves took their largest lead of the half at 19 points on a Robinson-Bacote layup with a minute and a half left in the half. The Waves took a 37-20 lead into the half.

After the halftime break, the Waves continued to score, going on a 7-0 run to start the half. The Lions went on a run of their own in the middle of the quarter, scoring seven points in a row to cut the lead to 15. After three quarters of play, the Waves led 55-41.

In the fourth quarter, Pepperdine kept pace, outscoring the Lions 18-14 to take the 18-point victory.
