Malibu, Calif. – Five members of the Pepperdine men's water polo team were named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-America list this year. Balazs Kosa and Chris Dilworth were named to the second team while Marko Asic, Sean Thomas, and Mate Toth  were named honorable mention.
Asic (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Dana Hills HS) earned his fourth All-American honor, becoming just the third Wave ever to earn All-American status four times in their career. He joins Alan Herrmann and Jesse Smith on that prestigious list. After returning from injury this year, he was second on the team in goals with 58. He also passed his father, Pero, in the Pepperdine all-time goal rankings, notching his 240th goal during the NCAA Tournament, putting him fourth all-time at Pepperdine in goals scored.
Kosa (Budapest, Hungary/Csik Ferenc Altalanos Iskola es Gimnazium) earned his second All-American honors in a row as a sophomore. He built upon a strong freshman campaign by leading the Golden Coast Conference in goals (93), assists (47), and total points (140). Kosa had an incredible end to the season, averaging just under three goals a game for the final nine games of the season, including scoring seven goals in the two games of the NCAA Tournament and was named to the All-Tournament team.
Dilworth (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Thousand Oaks HS) also earned his second straight All-American honors in his final year as a Wave. He was third on the team in goals scored with 47, and led the GCC in ejections drawn, with 64. He scored six goals in the Waves' opening game of the NCAA Tournament against UC Davis, and was named to the All-Tournament team.
Thomas (Covina, Calif./Loyola HS) earned his first career All-America honor after a strong year in the pool. He scored a career-high 30 goals and assisted on 20 more. He also led the charge on defense, making a team-high 32 steals.
Toth (Balatonalmadi, Hungary/Szilagyi Erzsebet Boarding School) also earned his first All-America honors as a senior. He scored 38 goals on the year, including a season-high four against USC.
The Waves had their best finish in 22 years, finishing as national semifinalists and an end of the year ranking of fourth in the nation. The team finished with a 25-8 record.
