Last Week: The Waves hosted three games last week. The first was on Saturday, as the Waves defeated #12 San Jose State 11-8 in a GCC matchup. Then on Sunday, the team hosted the first ever Pepperdine Invite, defeating Cal Lutheran 15-8 and Concordia Irvine 19-8. Marko Asic had 10 goals on the weekend, including a hat trick against GCC rival San Jose State.

Notable: The Waves have two hallmark wins thus far in 2019: On Oct. 12, Pepperdine defeated #6 California 13-12 for the first time since 2008. Then one week later, the Waves defeated USC 13-12 for the first time since 2005 ... Marko Asic has been steadily climbing the all-time goal scoring ranks this year, and is currently fifth all-time with 237 goals. He is just 2 goals behind his father Pero on the list, who has 239 and will likely pass him this week ... Chris Dilworth has 161 career goals, which puts him 16th all-time and 11 goals behind Adam Hewko in 15th ... Sunday's victory over Concordia gave the Waves 20 wins for the first time since 2008.

Player of the Week: Two members of the team have earned Player of the Week honors in back-to-back weeks. Balazs Kosa earned it on 10/10 after his performances against Pomona-Pitzer and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, and Marko Asic brought home the honors on 10/17 after helping the Waves defeat Cal.
