GAME RECAP
The Golden Eagles started the game hot, taking a 7-2 lead early on in the first. Pepperdine took the lead with 6:23 left in the first on a Hannah Friend fast-break layup. An 8-0 run helped the Waves secure a 17-15 lead after the first 10 minutes of play. The second quarter was more of the same, as the Waves outscored the Golden Eagles 18-13 and led 35-28 at the half.
Cal State LA outscored the Waves 15-14 in the third quarter, but the Waves held on to the lead thanks to a couple of early three-pointers from Fecske and Friend, and took a 49-43 lead into the final quarter. After the Golden Eagles scored the first basket of the final period, it was all Waves. A 22-2 run put the Waves up 71-50 with just under three minutes to play.
