Box Score MALIBU, Calif. – Monique Andriuolo scored a game-high 20 points as the Pepperdine women's basketball team defeated Cal State LA 79-56 on Friday afternoon in Firestone Fieldhouse.
The Waves (4-2) outscored the Golden Eagles – an NCAA Division II team who are counting this as an exhibition – 30-13 in the final ten minutes.

- Junior forward Monique Andriuolo (Melbourne, Australia/Maribyrnong Secondary College) led all scorers with 22 points. She shot 11-18 from the field and added seven rebounds on the day.
- Senior guard Paige Fecske (Studio City, Calif./Chaminade HS) shot 4-5 from beyond the arc and 7-12 overall for 18 points.
- Sophomore guard Malia Bambrick (Santa Clarita, Calif./Bishop Alemany HS) scored 10 points, shooting 2-5 from three and 4-12 overall.
GAME RECAP
The Golden Eagles started the game hot, taking a 7-2 lead early on in the first. Pepperdine took the lead with 6:23 left in the first on a
Hannah Friend fast-break layup. An 8-0 run helped the Waves secure a 17-15 lead after the first 10 minutes of play. The second quarter was more of the same, as the Waves outscored the Golden Eagles 18-13 and led 35-28 at the half.
Cal State LA outscored the Waves 15-14 in the third quarter, but the Waves held on to the lead thanks to a couple of early three-pointers from Fecske and Friend, and took a 49-43 lead into the final quarter. After the Golden Eagles scored the first basket of the final period, it was all Waves. A 22-2 run put the Waves up 71-50 with just under three minutes to play. During that run, seven different Waves scored, led by six points from Bambrick and four points from Andriuolo. The Golden Eagles could not overcome the deficit, and the Waves earned their fourth win of the season.
