Last Week: The Waves defeated Long Beach State in a down-to-the-wire game on Saturday. Chris Dilworth came through for the Waves, scoring a second-half hat trick to give the Waves the edge over the Beach.
Â
Notable: The Waves have two hallmark wins thus far in 2019: On Oct. 12, Pepperdine defeated #6 California 13-12 for the first time since 2008. Then one week later, the Waves defeated USC 13-12 for the first time since 2005 ... Marko Asic has been steadily climbing the all-time goal scoring ranks this year, and is currently fifth all-time with 237 goals. He is just 2 goals behind his father Pero on the list, who has 239 and will likely pass him this week ... Chris Dilworth has 164 career goals, which puts him 16th all-time and eight goals behind Adam Hewko in 15th ... Sunday's victory over Concordia gave the Waves 20 wins for the first time since 2008.
Â
Player of the Week: Three members of the team have earned Player of the Week honors this year. Chris Dilworth won it most recently this past week after a hat trick lifted the Waves over Long Beach State. Balazs Kosa earned it on 10/10 after his performances against Pomona-Pitzer and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, and Marko Asic brought home the honors on 10/17 after helping the Waves defeat Cal.Â
