Men's Tennis Ends Run in ITA All-American With 10-2 Record

TULSA, Okla. – Corrado Summaria and Tim Zeitvogel of the Pepperdine men's tennis team completed play in the 2019 ITA All-American Championships pre-qualifying rounds on Tuesday afternoon. Both Waves ended their runs in Tulsa on a 10-2 record.

Corrado Summaria (PEPP) def. Niklas Gerdes (UTC) – 1-6, 6-4, 6-4
Tim Zeitvogel (PEPP) def. Payton Holden (PRINCE) – 7-6(3), 6-2

Over the course of a week, Summaria and Zeitvogel both accrued five wins each against some of the top competition in the country on an ITA stage. Fellow Waves Enrique Luque Rico and Adrian Oetzbach met tough ends, as they both lost in the second round of tournament play.

"I'm proud of how our group approached the tournament," head coach Adam Scaechterle said. "We won a lot of matches. But more importantly, we did a lot of learning. Our guys brought a mature and confident mindset to the tournament, and took full advantage of every competitive opportunity."

The Waves will take the week off from tournament play but return to action on the home stage on Thursday, October 17 for the ITA Southwest Regionals hosted by Pepperdine.
