Women's Soccer Routs Pacific 4-0

MALIBU, California – Joelle Anderson had a goal and an assist and the Pepperdine women's soccer team had its best offensive output of the season with a 4-0 victory over visiting Pacific on Saturday afternoon in West Coast Conference play.
The Waves (8-6-2, 4-2) have never lost to the Tigers (3-13, 0-6) and it was another dominating effort with a 30-4 advantage in shots, and 15-4 in shots on goal.
Devyn Gilfoy and Anderson both scored for the second consecutive game to put the Waves up 2-0 at halftime, while Erin Sinai and Madi Cook both scored their first career goals late in the game. The Waves had numerous other chances, hitting the post or crossbar three times and forcing Pacific's goalkeeper to make 11 saves.
GOALS
Pepperdine 8': Redshirt freshman midfielder Olivia Packer (Las Vegas, Calif./Palo Verde HS) took the ball up the left side and centered it to junior forward Devyn Gilfoy (Brentwood, Calif./Liberty HS) in the box. Gilfoy made a spin move to free herself and from about 10 yards out, beat the goalkeeper to the right post for her third goal of the season.
Pepperdine 29': Senior forward Hailey Stenberg (Huntington Beach, Calif./Mater Dei HS) sent in a corner kick from the right side. It was headed up by a Pacific player, and the Tigers' goalkeeper attempted to punch the ball away, but it went straight to junior forward Joelle Anderson (San Jose, Calif./Harker School), who poked it in from seven yards out for her third goal of the season.
Pepperdine 81': The Waves were awarded a penalty kick when Stenberg was kicked from behind in the box, and sophomore defender Erin Sinai (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad HS) stepped up and buried the PK.
Pepperdine 83': Anderson took a corner kick from the right side and sophomore midfielder Madi Cook (Trabuco Canyon, Calif./Tesoro HS) met it powerfully with a header at the far post to find the back of the net.
