MALIBU, Calif. – Tim Zeitvogel and Evan Shamlian of the Pepperdine men's tennis team were the lone survivors through the ITA Southwest Regional rounds of 32 and 16 on Friday afternoon. Zeitvogel took charge as he advanced into the main draw quarterfinals as Shamlian did the same in the consolation draw.

RECAP
In singles, Tim Zeitvogel and Enrique Luque Rico stuck out their necks in the main draw round of 32 where both of them saw success as Zeitvogel defeated UCLA's Zahraj 7-6(1), 7-5 and Luque Rico beat Hawaii's Ilagan 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 to advance. Luque Rico then took on Smith from USC in a hard-fought match, where he dipped 5-7, 7-5, 6-4 to knock him out of play. Zeitvogel used his third set to overcome Arizona's Hassey, as he won 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Corrado Summaria and Adrian Oetzbach both saw the completion of their run in the main draw after both dropping their matches to the likes of USC's Bulis and San Diego's Sharma in the round of 32.

Freshman Evan Shamlian survived through both rounds of the consolation bracket, as he saw wins over LMU's Gonzalez (6-2, 6-3) and advanced ointo the consolation quarterfinals on a Peneff (ARIZ) default.

Pawel Jankowiak won over Kirsch of GCU 6-4, 6-1 in his round of 32 to advance into the back draw round of 16, but saw his demise against Arizona's Lagev where he dropped 6-0, 6-2.

Zeitvogel will take on the likes of USC's #8 Cukierman, the reigning 2019 Oracle/ITA Masters champion tomorrow morning in the main draw quarterfinals, as Shamlian meets Arizona's Lagev in consolation play.
