Pepperdine Travels to Bronco Invitational

MALIBU, California – The Pepperdine men's and women's cross country teams are headed up to Santa Clara for the final regular-season meet, as the Waves will run at the Bronco Invitational on Saturday morning.
MEET DETAILS
The race will be held at the Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, Calif. on Saturday. The men's 8K will start at 8:45 a.m., followed by the women's 6K at 9:30 a.m.
MEN'S TEAM
Sophomore Karl Winter (Stockton, Calif./Saint Mary's HS) led the Waves for the men again in their last race, the Capital Cross Challenge. Winter posted a time of 24:51.2 in the men's 8K.
The Waves #2-5 runners for the Capital Cross Challenge were sophomore Kyle McCabe (Westminster, Colo./Holy Family HS), senior Jalen Frantal (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville Central HS), sophomore Jackson Felkins (Clearwater, Fla./Palm Harbor University HS) and junior Preston Gromer (Casper, Wyo./Kelly Walsh HS)
WOMEN'S TEAM
For the first time in her career, senior Cori Persinger (Lee's Summit, Mo./Lee's Summit West HS) led the Waves in the women's 6K. Her time at the Capital Cross Challenge of 22:15.0 was a personal record and moved her up to number 11 on the Waves all-time performance list.
The team's #2-5 runners for the Capital Cross Challenge were freshman Skyler Danley (Easton, Pa./Easton Area HS), sophomore Annelies Ondersma (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich./University Liggett School), sophomore Key Pearson (Bainridge Island, Wash./Vistamar School) and freshman Olivia Miller (Tallahassee, Fla./Lawton Chiles HS).

Head coach Sylvia Mosqueda says: "This meet is super important for going into our conference meet on November 1st. These cross country athletes have been training amazing and nailing all their workouts. They're all looking stronger and quicker. Karl Winter and Jalen Frantal have been great team captains and are ready for great performances. On the women's side, they are all doing well and I'm excited to see what kind of times they will give me going into conference. I'm excited and proud of all of them."
