This Week: The No. 8 Pepperdine men's water polo team continues its early-season tournament schedule this week, taking part in the GCC vs. WWPA Challenge and the Inland Empire Classic. The Waves will play four games over two days.Â
Game #5: Saturday (Sept. 8) at 11:20 a.m. PT at Anteater Aquatics Complex in Irvine, Calif. : No. 8 Pepperdine (3-1) vs. #20 Loyola Marymount Lions0 (2-2).
Game #6: Saturday (Sept. 8) at 1:45 p.m. PT at Anteater Aquatics Complex in Irvine, Calif.: No. 8 Pepperdine (3-1) vs. #12 UC San Diego Tritons (3-1).Â
Game #7: Sunday (Sept. 9) at 7:50 a.m. PT at Thompson Aquatic Center in Redlands, Calif. : No. 8 Pepperdine (3-1) at Redlands Bulldogs (1-3).
Game #8: Sunday (Sept. 9) at 11 a.m. PT at Thompson Aquatic Center in Redlands, Calif. : No. 8 Pepperdine (3-1) vs. #19 Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens (1-2).

Last Week: Last week, Pepperdine began its season at the Bruno Classic in Providence, R.I., taking on three ranked opponents in St. Francis Brooklyn, Harvard, Brown and Bucknell. The Waves went-3-1 on the weekend, with their sole loss coming in double overtime to Brown, 11-12.Â
Preseason Rankings: The Waves once again are near the top of the Water Polo national preseason rankings. The Collegiate Water Polo Association has Pepperdine ranked #8 in the nation before the season starts.
Schroeder: Head Coach Terry Schroeder is in his 26th year of coaching at Pepperdine. His first stint of coaching was from 1986-2005, after which he took an eight-year break to coach the United States National Team.Â
