STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pepperdine men's tennis team began a two-day road trip up North on Friday, falling 4-2 to Pacific at Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center. Max Mendelsohn was the lone Wave to win his singles match.
The Waves (3-12, 0-2) won the doubles point, but the Tigers (5-13, 2-2) rallied to win four singles matches to take the match.

In doubles, the Tigers got off to a hot start, winning the match on court two to open the match. The Waves however, would fight back, winning on courts one and three to take the doubles point. Lautaro Pane and Dane Esses defeated Bernardo Oliveira and Akram El Sallaly on court one to clinch the point. Dennis Uspensky and Yusuf Khamis defeated Nathan Hampton and Mikayel Khachatryan on court three 7-6.
With a 1-0 match lead, the Waves had the momentum heading in to singles, but Pacific would not let up. Dane Esses forced a third set, winning the second 7-5 after dropping the first 6-7. Max Mendelsohn won his match on court five against Johnathan Lieu, 7-6, 6-2. Yusuf Khamis's match went unfinished as the match was clinched on a different court.

The Waves continue their road trip on Saturday when the team travels to Moraga, Calif. for a WCC matchup with Saint Mary's. The match is set to start at 2 p.m.
