March 2, 2018 LA JOLLA, Calif. - Dane Esses and Dennis Uspensky advanced to the round of 16 in the Pacific Coast Doubles Tournament on Friday. They defeated the number one seeded pair of Brett Bacharat and Michael Meyer to advance.
Uspensky and Esses defeated Thibault Forget and Mateusz Smolicki 8-4 in the round of 64 and the top-seeded pair 8-4. They will face off against Thomas Fawcett and William Genesen in the Round of 16 tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.
Max Mendelsohn and Brian Berdusco also competed in the tournament, defeating Zachary Emert and Naara Shin in the round of 64, 8-1 before falling to third-seeded Michael Genender and Sameer Kumar of Stanford 8-4.
