MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine men's tennis team fell to Arizona State, by a score of 4-0 at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center on Sunday.

Brian Berdusco took a set from #38 Benjamin Hannestad before the match was clinched on a separate court.

MATCH RECAP

In doubles play, Dane Esses and Lautaro Pane played on court one, but didn't finish their match. They took Benjamin Hannestad and Tim Ruehl to 4-4 before the doubles point was won by the Sun Devils. Thomas Wright and Pierre Louis Dodens beat Max Mendelsohn and Brian Berdusco, 6-4. Andrea Bolla and Makey Rakotomalala defeated Yusuf Khamis and Scotland Garapedian, 6-2.

Down 1-0 in the match heading into singles play, the Waves got off to a good start. Berdusco won the first set of his match against No. 38-ranked Hannestad, 6-1 to highlight the opening singles action. His match went unfinished as the match was clinched on another court. After a first-set loss, Khamis came back against his match against Ruehl, getting the second set as close as 5-5, before falling, 5-7. Esses lost his first set to Rakotomalala, 4-6, and was down 3-5 when the match was finished.

The Sun Devils picked up wins on courts 3, 5 and 6 to clinch the 4-0 victory.
