PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – The Pepperdine men's golf team is still in second place following Tuesday's second round of the Saint Mary's Invitational.

The Waves have a two-day total of a 5-under 563 (281-282) at the par-71 Poppy Hills Golf Club. Pepperdine is one of five teams below par, but unfortunately BYU increased its lead from 10 shots to 14.

PLAYER SCORES

Junior Joshua McCarthy (Danville, Calif./De La Salle HS) is still high up on the leaderboard, as he's tied for fourth place with a 3-under 139 (68-71). He had four birdies during his even-par round.
Junior Clay Feagler (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Dana Hills HS) is tied for 11th with a 1-under 141 (71-70). His 1-under round included five birdies.
Sophomore RJ Manke (Lakewood, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) is tied for 23rd at 143 (74-69). His 2-under was the Waves' best score of the day and it included five birdies. After going 2-over through four holes, he was flawless the rest of the way with four birdies coming in a seven-hole span.
Freshman Derek Hitchner (Minneapolis, Minn./The Blake School) is tied for 29th at 144 (72-72). He had three birdies.
Freshman Joe Highsmith (Lakewood, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) is tied for 56th at 148 (70-78). He had one birdie on Tuesday.
Playing as an individual, sophomore Austin Murphy (Morgan Hill, Calif./Bellarmine College Prep) is tied for 56th at 148 (73-75). He had three birdies and an eagle on the par-5 first hole.

UP NEXT

The third and final round is Wednesday. This is the Waves' final tournament of the fall season.
