Waves Head North for Two Games

MALIBU, Calif. – This Week: The No. 7 Pepperdine men's water polo team heads on the road to Northern California for two games, including a Golden Coast Conference matchup with #20 San Jose State. The Waves will also be taking on #14 Santa Clara.

Game #24: Saturday (November 3) at 12 p.m. at Chris Kjeldsen Pool in Saratoga, Calif.: No. 7 Pepperdine Waves (13-10, 2-1 GCC) vs. No. 20 San Jose State (6-14, 0-2 GCC)

Game #25: Sunday (November 4) at 12 p.m. at Sullivan Aquatic Center in Santa Clara, Calif.: No. 7 Pepperdine Waves vs. #14 Santa Clara (10-10, 2-3 WWPC)

Team Leaders: Freshman Balazs Kosa leads the team in points with 61, thanks to a seven-goal performance last week against Pacific. He is followed by Chris Dilworth with 54 and Mate Toth with 50.

GCC Leaders: Dilworth's 46 goals are good for fifth-best in the Golden Coast Conference. George Mooney is second in the conference in assists, with 27, behind Lucas Araya of Pacific, and Balazs Kosa is right behind him in 4th with 23. John Claude Marco's 123 saves are second in the conference. Mate Toth has 30 steals, good for third in the GCC.

Last Week: Last week, the Waves hosted their final two home games of the year. Freshman Balazs Kosa had a season-high seven goals against Pacific in a 13-12 loss. The Waves also got a five-goal performance from Curtis Jarvis in the second game of the weekend, a 16-8 victory over Princeton.

Schroeder: Head Coach Terry Schroeder is in his 26th year of coaching at Pepperdine. His first stint of coaching was from 1986-2005, after which he took an eight-year break to coach the United States National Team.
