PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Waves came out strong in the first set, and although each side went point-for-point throughout much of the beginning, Pepperdine held at least a one-point lead.  With a pair of service aces from Shannon Scully and big attacks from Alli O'Harra, the Wavespulled ahead 15-13 late in the action.  A block from Tarah Wylie and Rachel Ahrens started the Malibu Roofing Company efforts and Ahrens and O'Harra continued the roll towards a 19-15 advantage.  Kills from Hannah Frohling in the final moments of the action deterred the Gaels comeback attempt and Pepperdine went ahead in the match with a 25-20 first set win

After coming back from a small deficit in the second set, the Waves went on to own the court with a .483 set-attack effort.  After a 7-7 tied score, a block from Blossom Sato and O'Harra set Pepperdine off on a 7-0 run and kills from Frohling helped the cause to a 17-10 Waves' lead.  Another block from O'Harra and Shannon Scully late in the set put the Waves going in the right direction and a final pair of smashes from Ahrens and Scully shut the set down with a 25-15 Waves' win and put the home team ahead 2-0 going into the third set.

In the third and final set, Pepperdine set the tone from the beginning after amassing a 4-0 run courtesy of the serving prowess of Frohling, including an ace.  The Waves continued to roll with kills from Ahrens and Frohling en route to a 10-6 lead.  More smashes from Scully and Wylie late in the action helped Pepperdine to maintain a 17-12 lead.  Although the opposition once again tried to inch back in towards the final moments of the set, the Waves stayed resilient and a final rejection from Scully and O'Harra completed the sweep with a 25-19 final set score.
