Jarvis Leads Waves in Final Home Game

MALIBU, Calif. – Thanks to a five-goal effort from Curtis Jarvis, the #7 Pepperdine men's water polo team defeated #13 Princeton on Saturday 18-6.
The Waves (13-10, 2-1 GCC) had two others score three goals in their defeat of the Tigers (14-10).
GAME RECAP
The Waves got off to a very hot start, getting goals from Balazs Kosa (Budapest, Hungary/Csik Ferenc Altalanos Iskola es Gimnazium), Jarvis (Huntington Beach, Calif./Huntington Beach HS) and Sean Ferrari (Redwood City, Calif./St. Francis HS) before allowing anything to Princeton. After a single goal from the Tigers, Jacob Watson (Westlake Village, Calif./Oaks Christian HS) scored for the Waves, as did Kosa in the final seconds of the quarter. Pepperdine led 5-2 after the first quarter.
Only two goals were scored in the second quarter. The first was scored by Princeton after five minutes of play, and the second completed Kosa's hat trick. The Waves led 6-3 at the half.
The Tigers outscored the Waves in the third quarter. Jarvis scored twice for the Waves, and George Mooney (Whittier, Calif./La Serna HS) got his lone goal of the game. Ferrari completed the scoring for the Waves in the third, who took a 10-8 lead into the final period of play.
The fourth quarter was all Waves. Stellar defense kept the Tigers from scoring any goals. Jarvis had two goals to go along with his hat trick earlier in the game. Ferrari completed his hat trick, while Mate Toth (Balatonalmadi, Hungary/Szilagyi Erzsebet Boarding School) had two goals and Chris Dilworth (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Thousand Oaks HS) got his lone goal of the day, sealing the victory for the Waves.
