No. 6 Waves Fall to Top-Ranked USC

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Sean Ferrari of the sixth-ranked Pepperdine men's water polo team had two goals on Sunday as the Waves fell to top-ranked USC, 17-6.
The Waves (12-9, 12-0 GCC) had goals from five different players, but could not catch the Trojans (24-1, 0-1 MPSF).
GAME RECAP
The Trojans jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before Ferrari (Redwood City, Calif./St. Francis HS) got the Waves only goal of the first quarter. USC scored twice more to take a 4-1 lead after one.
USC scored five straight goals in the second, taking a 9-1 lead. Ferrari scored with 28 second left in the half, cutting the lead to seven before the break.
The Waves started the second half hot, with Balazs Kosa (Budapest, Hungary/Csik Ferenc Általános Iskola És Gimnázium) and Chris Dilworth (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Thousand Oaks HS) each scoring within the first three minutes. Their two goals were the only goals in the period for the Waves however, as USC took a 12-4 lead into the final quarter.
The fourth quarter was more of the same, with USC scoring five times to the Waves' two goals. Sam Paur (Poway, Calif./Poway HS) and Mikey Dakis (Orinda, Calif./Miramonte HS) scored the Waves' goals.
