SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. " Dane Esses of the Pepperdine men's tennis team advanced to the quarterfinals in the consolation bracket at the Battle in the Bay Classic in San Francisco on Saturday. Max Mendelsohn and Brian Berdusco also played in the tournament, reaching the Round of 16 in the main draw before falling to players from USC and Georgia, respectively.

BATTLE IN THE BAY

The Waves started the Battle in the Bay, hosted by San Francisco, on Friday. Dane Esses, Max Mendelsohn, and Brian Berdusco played for the Waves. Esses was defeated in his round of 32 match on Friday, and played in the consolation bracket beginning Saturday, finishing in the quarterfinals.
