Game Notes 
THIS WEEK: The Pepperdine women's basketball team closes out the regular season on the road this week, taking on Saint Mary's on Thursday and then San Francisco on Saturday.
GAME #28: Thursday (February 23) at McKeon Pavilion in Moraga, Calif.: Pepperdine (7-20, 5-11) vs. Saint Mary's (16-11, 11-5) at 6:30 p.m.
GAME #29: Saturday (February 25) at War Memorial Gym in San Francisco, Calif.: Pepperdine (7-20, 5-11) vs. San Francisco (15-12, 9-7) at 2 p.m.

LAST WEEK: Pepperdine went fell to Santa Clara and San Francisco in their final two home games. Allie Green did come up with 30 points on her senior day on Saturday against LMU.
SERIES VS. SAINT MARY'S: The Gaels own a 37-30 lead in the all-time series, including a win earlier this season. The teams split their season series last year. The teams first played in 1988.
SERIES VS. SAN FRANCISCO: The Dons lead the all-time series between the teams 38-36 since the teams first played in 1978. Pepperdine picked up a win at home over USF and the teams are 2-2 in their last four meetings.
SEASON HIGHS: The Waves had a season-best offensive night against San Francisco, setting season highs in points (81), threes (12), shooting percentage (53.6%) and assists (22). Pepperdine followed that up with a season-best defensive game against San Diego, holding the Toreros to season lows in points (40), shooting percentage (19%), field goals (12), while compiling eight blocks.
WCC TOURNAMENT: The WCC Tournament starts next week (March 2-7) in Las Vegas, with all 10 conference teams converging on The Orleans Arena to compete for an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Waves currently sit tied with Pacific for the eighth-seed and are a game back of San Diego for seventh. Pepperdine owns the tie-breaker with San Diego after beating the Toreros twice this year and has split its season series with Pacific.
DOUBLE-DOUBLES: Yasmine Robinson-Bacote leads the Waves with 10 double-doubles so far this season as she leads the team with 14.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. It is the most double-doubles a Waves player has had since 2001 and is tied for the eighth best single-season total in program history. Robinson-Bacote is currently fifth in the WCC in scoring and third in rebounding.
BEATING THE ZAGS: Pepperdine got off to a great start in conference play, beating preseason conference favorites Gonzaga 79-69. The Waves got 18 points and 12 rebounds from Robinson-Bacote and Barbara Sitanggan posted 19 points, six rebounds and six assists. It was the Waves' first win over the perennial WCC powerhouse since 2009. Gonzaga was 9-2 and receiving votes coming into the game.
HOUSE PROTECTOR: Megan House currently leads the team and is second in the WCC with 1.67 blocks per game. As the lone true post player available for Pepperdine, House has 45 blocks this year and is averaging 6.7 rebounds.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Senior guard Allie Green picked up WCC Player of the Week honors after leading the Waves to back-to-back wins to close out non-conference play. Green averaged 25.0 points per game in the two contests, scoring a team season high of 29 against Cal State Fullerton and then putting up a game high 21 points at home against CSU Bakersfield.
FRESH FACE: Freshman Barbara Sitanggan currently leads the team with 88 assists (4.0 apg) and 40 steals (1.82 spg) on the year, while also averaging 5.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Sitanggan is fifth in the WCC in steals per game currently.
3-PT BARRAGEs: Sydney Bordonaro became one of four players in program history to hit at least seven threes in a game when she knocked down seven long balls against Duke. Bordonaro went 7-for-10 from three and scored 23 pts. Allie Green then became the fifth player to do it with 7-of-13 shooting from three against LMU later in the year. Green finished the game with 30 points, a season high for the Waves.
THE ROSTER: This year's squad features six returning contributors from last year, two players coming off of redshirt freshman seasons, one junior college transfer and four freshman. The young Pepperdine squad is led by just two upperclassmen in senior guard Allie Green and junior guard Kim Jacobs. Also returning to the mix will be starting point guard Paige Fecske, sophomore forward Yasmine Robinson-Bacote, and sophomore guards Kayla Blair and Keyari Sleezer. Megan House and Sydney Bordonaro, who were also part of last year's recruiting class, will be entering the mix after medically redshirting last season. The Waves also added Alex Kalmbach, a redshirt sophomore transfer from Ventura College, and freshmen Hayley Duren, Barbara Sitanggan, Becca Lazuka and Lauren Craig.
THE STAFF: Head Coach Ryan Weisenberg begins his fourth year at the helm for the Waves in 2016-17. Returning alongside Weisenberg from last year's coaching staff will be assistants Josh Pace and Darron Larsen. Joining the Pepperdine bench this year will be former WNBA star and Olympic gold-medalist DeLisha Milton-Jones. Milton-Jones joins the Pepperdine staff as an assistant after wrapping up a 17-year career in the WNBA during which she won two Olympic gold medals, set the WNBA career record for games played with 499, won two titles with the Los Angeles Sparks and was named to two WNBA All-Star teams. She replaces former assistant Lacey Burns who left to take the head coaching job at NCAA Division II Concordia in Irvine. Also joining the Waves' staff will be Melissa Zornig as the new director of operations and former Pepperdine standout Bria Richardson as a volunteer coach.
