
Visalli Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honor

MALIBU, California " After earlier this week being named the West Coast Conference's Player of the Year, senior midfielder Bri Visalli of the Pepperdine women's soccer team earned another big award on Thursday when she was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District second team.
Visalli (San Jose, Calif./Valley Christian HS), an economics major, was also named to CoSIDA's second team in 2015. She was also a WCC All-Academic first team selection in both 2015 and 2016.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.3 grade-point average, have participated in at least 50 percent of the season's events and have at least sophomore standing both academically and athletically. Pepperdine is part of District 8, which consists of schools from California, Alaska, Arizona, Hawai'i, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Canada.
Visalli leads the WCC (or is tied for the lead) in all offensive categories in 2017 with 13 goals, six assists, 32 points, five game-winning goals and 72 shots. In the Pepperdine single-season record books, she ranks fourth in goals, and she's tied the record for game-winning goals.
For her career, Visalli has scored 24 goals, seventh all-time at Pepperdine.
She's the first Wave ever to be named the WCC's Player of the Year. She picked up All-WCC honors all four years, including twice on the first team.
Visalli and the 11th-ranked Waves open the NCAA Tournament on Saturday with a first-round game against Cal State Fullerton at Tari Frahm Rokus Field at 1 p.m.
